Jimski
Name: Jim Mroczkowski
I have been a contributor/columnist for iFanboy since June 2008. Since then, I have written a ridiculous number of articles about comic books, far too many to name here. Instead, a full list of my columns to date can be found at Jimski.com.

The iFanboy Letter Column - 11/20/2009
On Nov 20, 2009 1:00 PMI just saw my first "BLACKEST NIGHT VS. SIEGE! PLACE YOUR BETS!" article a month before any Siege book sees the shelf. Ask me what I'd change about comics readers.

On Nov 20, 2009 9:00 AMOne of the first things I read as I re-entered this strange thing of ours. "Oh...! Things have changed while I was away."

On Nov 18, 2009 11:29 AMI know it's been very motivational to me to see "You're an amateur with no finished work!" over and over. But I don't know if it's necessarily the most educator-approved way to motivate someone to finish a novel just so they can shove it in your face. I am glad none of the teachers tasked with shaping my mind and honing my work habits had such naked disdain for trying. ...

On Nov 16, 2009 12:39 PMI don't have much charitable to say about Glee. Smart people I like are being made happy by it every week, so I'm not one to quibble. Timmy: I haven't read Booster Gold or... much of anything, really. It's a long-term problem that I'll rectify the next time I have more money and time than I have use for.

On Nov 10, 2009 9:35 PMBased solely on the trailer, I'd call this something I want to see. Of course, everything I know about this book suggests the trailer is wildly deficient. In the end, the viewers will have to let me know.

On Nov 10, 2009 9:00 AMYay, scores! Sure, the polling looks bad now, but I think if everyone keeps giving 110% there's still a chance that Marvel can win enough points in November to become President of Comics. Blackest Night is an "event," but the bottom line is that it's also a story, and people really like the story. The basic concept has huge potential for even more stories, so (so far) people don't ...

On Nov 9, 2009 12:40 PMI meant to mention that in my review, actually. The first "season" of anything isn't necessarily the best place to start because they haven't always figured out what they're doing yet. Kramer is unrecognizable for the first year of Seinfeld, and different people play his parents. For the first year of the Simpsons, Homer talks like Walter Matthau and is about 40 times smarter than he...
Go to CommentBook of the Month - G.I. Joe: Cobra
On Nov 9, 2009 5:50 AMI never, never, never, never, never thought I would buy a GI Joe comic book as a grown man, much less that it would be any good at all, much MUCH less that it would be great. Every wire and diode in my brain is built to dismiss this, but I loved it. The Roger Ebert quote I repeat so often comes to mind again in this case: it's not what a story is about that matters, but how it is about it.
