Conner, Palmiotti, and Gray off Power Girl

If anything, I'm glad that this series isn't being cancelled because of low sales. If anything, this run was a ray of sunshine and proof that this type of fun & quirky book can be highly successful. Also, I think it helped raise Amanda Conner's profile quite a bit, and to see her on more projects would be a dream come true.

Pick of the Week - 03.10.2010 - Batman and Robin #10

On Mar 10, 2010 10:58 PM

The bizare detecteve aspects of Grant Morrison's Batman stories are without a doubt the best thing about his run, and this issue played heavily toward that type of story. I loved this issue, and it's fun to see Dick try and crack the mystery of Bruce Wayne using the incredibly bizare logic that are a factor of the best Batman detective stories.   As for Damian, I think my love...

EXCLUSIVE: 'Hawkeye and Mockingbird' Ongoing Series From Marvel!

On Mar 10, 2010 3:00 PM

When Josh read this, did he pace around his room while flapping his hands and repeating "Oh my God, Oh my God, Oh my God, Oh my God!"?  Will definitely have to get this, as I love David Lopez's art, and while I didn't read The Reunion, I've heard good things about it. Will have to get that sometime soon also.

AVENGERS ACADEMY Gets Its Second Student... Striker

On Mar 9, 2010 12:07 PM

Striker? The SWAT guy from Mortal Kombat is going to be in this book? (I now see that this joke doesn't really work, as the MK character spells his name differently). I like the flat black costume with the vivid lightning on it, it's a cool look. And just like the rest of these new characters, I'll be looking forward to seeing them in this book.

March Manganess: SOLANIN

On Mar 9, 2010 12:00 PM

I love that you snuck in "slice of life" in there at the end. When I saw that this manga had a band in it, I initially drew comparisons to BECK, which in my opinion is the best manga pertaining to music. Though as I read further into your review, it seems that this story isn't so much about the band as it is the band members' personal drama. I always find these stories about th...

AVENGERS ACADEMY Gets Its First Student... Veil

On Mar 8, 2010 12:13 PM

I haven't read the Avengers Initiative in awhile, though I didn't drop that book due to low quality, though it was a budgetary pull-list casualty that most of us unfortunatly have to make from time to time. I love the purpose of this book, as I've always been intrigued by the younger generation of heroes (which is why I love Teen Titans and New X-Men: Academy X so much). Gage usually does great...

I love that he has the armor in the suitcase, like in the 90's cartoon.  Will be loving this.

The Avengers Come to Disney XD This Fall

On Mar 4, 2010 12:05 PM

The animation also kind of reminds me the recent Wolverine & The X-Men series. Even though I usually like the more detailed animation style of the 90's X-Men, I like this type as well, as it's highly energetic and can showcase some fast paced action scenes. I'm very excited for this series, am am glad that there are still all ages cartoons that I can get engrossed in.

KICK-ASS - Movie Review

On Mar 4, 2010 10:54 AM

I also hope that not too many fans will be crying foul over the changes. The pacing of a story in a single movie is much different that the one of an episodic comic series, and if it was a strict shot-for-shot translation, the pace would seem weird while watching it. What's more important is that Vaughn got the feel of the series down, and to me, that's just as important (maybe even more so) t...
